Copenhagen Restaurants

Last week my best friend and I spent the week in Copenhagen, a city known for style and modern architecture. It is true what they say about the city- Copenhagen is very expensive, especially with all the TikTok recommendations. Therefore I wanted to share with you some restaurants, activities and places that are worth visiting, especially if you only have a couple days as there are so many things out there.

This week's post is one of two posts with all my recommendations for Copenhagen. We had some great food while we were there so I thought it would only be right to dedicate a post to all the restaurants and bars we visited.

Buka- Pistachio Croissant

Buka is all around TikTok, however, I understand why- this is by far the best croissant I have ever had and worth it. Make sure to get there early though as it does get very busy and a queue does grow throughout the day.

Palazzo Diner- Spinach Carbonara

I haven't seen enough people talk about this restaurant, especially for the quality of the food and for a reasonable price. With only three mains, the restaurant focuses on it's quality. There is also a lot of amazing starters and sides so would recommend getting a few to pair with your pasta.

Jojos- Cocktails

All cocktails at this bar are £5, with unique choices and all on tap. The vibes are so cool, it seems to be the meet-up spot for the best-dressed students.

Sixteen twelve- Avocado Toast

Usually, I am not one to spend money on avocado toast since I can make it at home, however, I followed Emma Chamberlin's recommendation and was highly impressed. This was the most insane avocado toast topped with almond flakes, goat's cheese, pomegranate seeds and turmeric pickled egg- definitely wouldn't be able to make it at home.

Iki Sushi- Sushi Platter

Right around the corner from Jojo's is a small sushi bar with reasonably priced sushi platters. The quality was so fresh and a great place to get some food after a few cocktails.

Studio X- Folded Eggs and Sweet Treats

One of the days we were in Copenhagen, it was awful weather so we decided to spend the afternoon in a cafe. We found this cafe on TikTok and was worth the visit. I got the famous folded eggs for lunch, and afterwards got a mocha with one of their cookies as a sweet treat. The atmosphere and interior made it the perfect place to wait for the rain to pass.

Phago- Falafel Salad

The sun made an appearance throughout our trip and we wanted to make the most of it by spending a lot of time in their parks or by the canal. A lot of the restaurants with outdoor seating in the city centre are expensive so if you have the same luck with the weather I would recommend getting a salad and finding a bench to enjoy your lunch.

Tivoli Market

We arrived in Copenhagen at dinner time so didn't have much time to explore for food since most restaurants close pretty early (9pm), we decided to try out the Food stalls at Tivoli and it was surprisingly really good quality. It gets very chilly in the evenings in Copenhagen so we decided to get a ramen to warm ourselves up which hit the spot!

Cock and Cow- Burgers

One of the stalls at Tivoli Market is Cock and Cow's burger stall, we decided to try out the restaurant and were wildly surprised. The food was amazing and well priced with vegan and gluten-free options.

Atelier Summer- Almond pancakes

To celebrate our final day in Copenhagen we wanted to try out another TikTok viral recommendation. We got there around 10am and there was already a queue around the block. Luckily we didn't have to wait as we snatched up one of the outdoor seats which was perfect as the sun was shining!

Both of us were tempted by the almond pancakes which were topped with blueberry compote and freshly whipped cream. The Danish breakfast is another popular choice, made up of; boiled eggs, rye bread, cheese and jams- unfortunately, we didn't have time to try the infamous breakfast but it looked very tempting at A.S.
