LA GURL

A couple weeks ago I visited Los Angles for the first time. I’ve lived in America for most of my childhood, however, I hardly travelled around so it was nice to be back as an adult. LA is the American dream, shown in almost every movie and many reality shows means that there are certain novelties that must be done when visiting.

In this week’s post I will be giving an honest review of the most popular tourist attractions and if it’s actually worth the money and time.

The Beverly Hills Hotel

It was lovely to finally see the hotel which is so well know in tv shows and movies but I wouldn’t say the polo club or the pool cafe is worth it. I spent $50 for a salad that I would have gotten anywhere else for more than half of that price, however, now I can say that I’ve eaten at the Beverly Hills Hotel!

Farmers Market

From all the Emma Chamberlain videos when I was in LA I was going to have to visit at least one farmers market. And it was everything I wanted it to be. With gluten free, dairy free and vegan stalls- there was something for everyone. I ended up buying kilos of avocados and lots of coffee!

Health Nut Salad

Famous for fuelling the Kardashian’s, the health nut was a must try! I had the protein bowl after hot yoga (which I would also recommend) and really felt I was loving my LA yummy Mummy life. I have to say that although the salads are pretty expensive it could easily feed two people or if you are starving so it’s worth getting.

Calabasas Stairs

One morning I walked the Calabasas stairs as a workout and it’s was a great way to get your steps in while also getting a beautiful view. As it’s free I would definitely plan your workout there, however I would recommend going there early as it does get really busy and in the summer it’s super hot.

Beverly Hills and Hollywood

Personally this was my least favourite area to visit as it seemed to be pretty dead and was too expensive to even go into the shops. It’s obviously a very iconic place to see but I wouldn’t spend more than a morning there as there’s it’s just not that exciting.

Erewhon and TraderJoes

Erewhon was the most expensive supermarket I’ve ever visited, but I had the best smoothie (Hailey Bieber smoothie) so would definitely go there just to experience it once. On the other hand TraderJoes was the most affordable with so much option for snacks and meals. You know I had to pick up the infamous “everything but the bagel seasoning” which was only $3.

Frankie’s Bikinis Pop up

I’ve always loved Frankie’s Bikinis but I’ve only been able to find them online, however, the week before I arrived in LA they opened a shop in Venice Beach so it was perfect timing for me. I was in love with the Pamela Anderson collection and had to buy a swimsuit in honor of her!
