The Art of Clubbing In London
Londoners have a skill, it's a skill that has to be taught and developed every time you go out. Recently turning 18 years old has allowed me to jump into the deep end of London's Night Life and learn the tips and tricks on how to achieve a great night out. In this weeks post I am going to share with you all that I have learnt so far clubbing in London.
1. PRE DRINK
Drinks in pubs, bars and nightclubs can be highly expensive so I would recommend always making a couple drinks before going out in London. Put on your party playlist and experiment cocktail mixtures with friends. It's a good way to save some money and you wont feel too guilty when you look at your bank the next day.
2. Dress to Impress and Reject
Choosing an outfit is always the most important part of a night out for me so it's important to make sure you're getting the right vibe. Pre-planning outfits with friends or have a couple 'club' outfits which you always choose between is the right way to go because you won't have to ever worry about being underdressed or overdressed.
Researching the club is also important to make sure they don't have any specific rules on attire. Usually if they don't have a dress code I would recommend wearing some nice, comfortable trainers, especially if you like to dance.
Finally, being a woman in London can be scary sometimes so it's important to make sure that you feel comfortable in your outfit. Wear whatever you like, but make sure that you feel safe before going out.
3. Know your Shit
It's important to know your area and what nightclubs there are. You don't want to be travelling around all of London just for a night out but it's also important to get the best of the best when it comes to clubbing. If you need to get some help, here are a few of my Top London Clubs:
1. The Roxy
2. Embargos
3. Fabric
4. Lightbox
5. PrintWorks
4. RA Guide
I would highly recommend taking advice from friends when it comes to nightclubs, partying in London is a networking opportunity so it's best to go places where you might know mutuals.
However, the app RA Guide provides you with weekly updates on upcoming events at bars and nightclubs around England. This also gives you the opportunity to test different nightclub events and figure out your taste.
5. Safety First!
Safety is key! Make sure to travel with others if possible and always take a taxi back home- you can't put a price on your safety so if you have to pay a little more to be cautious- do it.
Another tool I would recommend investing in a Rape Alarm, this is just for percausion, however, really put my mind to rest knowing that I have something that will keep me safe. A tracker, such as an Air Tag or Life 360 is also a great investment because it allows your friends and family to know where you are and that you are safe.
Finally, make sure to always keep your drink close when on a night out and HAVE FUN!
Love, Aria
XO
