My New Years Resolutions!

Happy New Year! I can't believe that this is the first post of 2022, and we are starting off with a bang- my annual resolutions. This year instead of making my resolutions a chore, I want to help myself succeed and make 2022 the best year yet. These don't have to be new or unattainable, resolutions can be the promise to continue something that you have previously done which has brought you joy or made your life that little bit better. I hope these resolutions inspire or guide you to the best resolutions yet.

1. Journal daily

Something I have always tried to get into but have failed at is journalling. This year I want to dedicate time to gratitude. As a present to myself, I have bought a 6-minute journal with prompts and quotes to help me throughout the year.

2. Deep clean

I keep telling myself to have a deep clean through my bedroom and bathroom but never find the time so I am making it a priority this year to get rid of old things and start the year fresh.

Here is a link to a great video to motivate you to start your deep clean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cC-dfLzSYw&list=WL&index=135

3. Make time to read

This year I have been trying hard to make time for my reading, as I never use to enjoy it. However, this year I have been introduced to some amazing stories, this is why I will be continuing with this habit into 2022.

The first book I will be reading: The Ballard of the Songbirds and Snakes

4. Travel

This year is my final year of 6th form, meaning soon I will be going off to university, however, I have made the decision to take a GAP year. I want to take that time to explore other countries, after being lockdown in the UK for so long and see some old friends who live around the world.

5. Save money

This takes me on to my next resolution- save money! In order to go travelling I need to make some money, and that's why I hope to continue working at the shop I currently work for and find some other small jobs, like dog walking.

6. Building on to my balanced lifestyle

Health is really important to me; making sure to eat well and exercise sustainably. This is something important to bring into the new year but remember that everything is about balance.

7. Focus on my mindfulness (Self-love)

Physical health is important, but so is mental health- that is why it's also a resolution to work on my mindfulness. Especially this year with exams and COVID- we must remember to perform acts of self-love.

8. Continue my daily walk

I have loved taking to my dog on long walks and plugging in my headphones to listen to my Podcasts recently. This year I hope to do the same as it's helped my physical and mental health dramatically.

9. Blog weekly

Last year my resolution was to continue weekly blog posts, which has been such a success! I hope to continue on this resolution and take you on my next journey and all the adventures I will have through this blog.

10. Working towards my goal

I want to continue to work towards my goal which I have been doing so well over the past year. I have been driven to make it into the fashion industry and strive towards a more sustainable future. This next year will be different as I will no longer have school as a structure but I hope to find different opportunities to get involved with.

And last of all... make memories to remember!

Love, Aria
