How to Get Over that Cold Quick!
For the last week, I have been suffering from the worst cold so I thought it was only fitting to share with you a few tips and tricks in case anyone else is trying to get rid of a bug like me. I hope this simple guide helps you recover soon and get ready for the busy Christmas holiday.
1. Ginger shots
Ginger is the best way to naturally cure a cold by reducing inflammation in the throat, releasing chest congestion and its antibacterial properties. You can make your own ginger shots, buy them at most supermarkets or drink them in a tea- any of those will easily help clear up your illness.
2. Lots of Sleep
Sleep bolsters your ability to fight off illnesses so it's important to make sure to get lots of sleep and rest which allows the body to recuperate to gain back your strength
3. Cancel your Plans
As well as sleeping, there shouldn't be much else your doing, it's important to relax and that means no meetings or family get-togethers- complete isolation will do the trick!
4. Watch lots of Netflix
The only way to truly relax is to switch on your favourite movie or a current show. Enjoy warm coca and some nice treats, all snuggled up in your bed. At the moment I am watching the Devil Wears Prada and binging Shameless.
5. Vitamin C and D
Getting all the essential vitamins is vital to getting better, you can find vitamin C in oranges, which reduces recovery time by 8%. Vitamin D is taken from the sun so it's important to go for walks to clear your mind and body while enjoying the winter sunshine.
6. Stay Warm
Finally, make sure to look after yourself; taking long baths, wrapping under a fluffy blanket and wearing scarves and big jumpers will keep you protected from the cold weather.
7. Drink Fluids
Make sure to be including lots of water into your diet when ill, good hydration can reduce congestion and help the immunity system fight cold symptoms. It's recommended to have around 8 glasses to fully flush away the infection, tea have also many benefits to protect you against bacterial infections or viruses.
Stay Safe,
Aria xo
