How to be Productive!

Procrastinating is so easy to do and can really affect your work. However, in today's post I want to share with you my top tips on how to avoid procrastinating and help become productive with your work. These tips are specifically for school or university work, however, they are still really relevant to being productive in your everyday life as well!

1. Put Down your Phone!

Phones can be very tempting so it's important that you either turn your phone off or put it away so if any thing comes up you won't be tempted to look at it! Phones can also cause you to lose focus, especially when you go down the rabbit hole of social media. So instead of wasting time on your phone during your working period, spend the solid hour/hour and a half working and then you'll probably end up with more time for yourself at the end of it because you didn't need to make up for the time you lost on your Instagram or TikTok.

2. Make a timetable

Making a work timetable really helps me figure out what I've done, what I need to do and what's coming up. Personally I find it easier to write everything down on a piece of paper as I like to visually see everything on the page, however, there are many different ways of planning it; there are lots of templates online or you can create your own on the laptop!

3. Download Selfcontrol app

Selfcontrol is an app I have had this app for a while, and have been using it when ever I have work I know I don't need the internet for, particularly when doing practice exams or work which I had to heavily concentrate. All you have to do is download the app from the app store on your laptop and set a timer for however long you want to stay off the internet. Then the app will block any use of wifi, therefore, any distractions!

4. Make a list

Ticking off finished work is so satisfying. Therefore, I think it's important to put next to your timetable when working. There are so many ways of doing it, however, I like to list out my work from; closest to the due date to the work I have longer on. Once you've done your piece of work you can cross it off and move on to the next piece on your timetable.

5. Treat yourself

I think many people forget but being productive, doesn't mean you have to forget about 'you' time. It's important that you have breaks in the day and that you can still go out and enjoy the sun with your friends and family. The timetable makes it especially helpful as you just set an hour/ two hours of work and then the rest of the day you can relax and don't have to worry about being behind on work.

Hope this helps!

Love,
