11 Sustainable Present Ideas
Even though it's the time to exchange gifts, it's also important to remember to still look after the planet at the same time! In this weeks post, I have listed some sustainable present ideas which don't have as big of an impact on the environment! Some of these ideas are from small businesses, which are important to help, especially during this difficult time, and the others are bigger businesses, however, I chose them because they are known for being sustainable and ethical.
1. Firstly, I think it's important to remember you don't have to always buy Christmas presents, you can make them too! This year why not try and make some homemade gingerbread men for your family or friends. You can decorate them in any way you like and make them for everyone's requirements! (Recipe coming soon)
2. Face masks- its's 2020, face masks are the new socks but why not get them from small businesses which value sustainability!
3. Soy candle- Candles are a great present, especially in the winter to help make the house smell of Christmas! However, this year make your candles more sustainable by using soy instead of paraffin candle, not only are they better for the planet but they also burn slower which means they last longer!
4. If someone is into their skincare why not get them zero plastic skincare starter pack! These packs contain sustainable materials, such as, wood which are biodegradable- this is perfect as it can be recycled into something new after used!
5. Plants are a really nice present, they don't have to cost a lot, they are great for the environment and they are a perfect way to decorate someone's room or office!
6. Estrid Razor Subscription - I have mentioned this brand before on my blog, however, I think this brand is making such a difference, often people don't think about how thousands of razors and their heads are thrown away into landfills, these razors aren't sustainable and they have harsh chemicals which can't be broken down. However, Estrids razors are sustainable and vegan, and they come with a subscription which means every month you can get new heads and return the old ones to be recycled! It's the perfect present for anyone because everyone owns a razor, but do they think about the effects it causes?
7. Jewellery doesn't need to be from well-known brands to be beautiful, there are many small businesses which value making their product sustainable and long-lasting, unlike some high street markets!
8. Notebooks are such a good present for anyone who loves journalling or taking notes! The notebooks I have linked below come from a sustainable brand which value quality, all their designs are so beautiful and they have a large variety to choose from!

9. Metal Straws are so useful as they are super handy to have if someone goes to coffee shops often, but it will also reduce the number of plastic straws used!

10. Reusable cups are also super helpful, especially if they are someone who has a busy life and is always getting their morning drink in Starbucks! These cups are super easy to clean, help reduce waste and are made from recycled materials!
11. Blankets are the perfect present for winter, however, usually, they can be made from really unsustainable materials which just end up in landfills! The blanket I have linked below are made from recycled wool and mixed fibres, so in the evening when are all cosy they will know they have helped the planet in some way!
Hope this helps!
Lots of Love
