Cottage Apple Crumble (gluten free option)

As the weather is turning a bit more cold it's a perfect time to bake some warm goodies - especially this amazing apple crumble recipe! I made this recipe during my half term and it was really easy to make and it makes a perfect treat to have in the evenings with a bit of ice cream on top!

Ingredients:

-For the apples

4/5 cooking apples (peeled and diced)

1/2 a lemon (squeezed)

1 tbsp plain flour or gluten free flour

3/4 tsp cinnamon (I added more as I love cinnamon)

2 tbsp sugar (white or brown)

-For the crumble

1 cup + 1 tbsp plain flour or gluten-free flour

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup sugar (white or brown)

1 tsp cinnamon

5 tbsp rolled oats

1/2 cup of cold butter

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 190C

2. Firstly add the apples to the dish and add the ingredients, then mix in with hands

3. Then to a separate bowl add the dry crumble ingredients together and mix!

4. After mixed, add the butter and rub into the mixture with your hands until it becomes crumble

5. Then spread the crumble on top of the apples and put in the oven for 35 minutes (if it becomes slightly too "crispy" put a piece of tin foil over to keep it cooking)- the top should be a golden brown colour!

Hope you enjoy!

Lots of Love
