Trip to IOS
I have just finished a month of holidays; traveling to Canada, then to the South of France and finally Greece. So I thought it would only be right to talk about some of these adventures. I have never been to IOS before, let alone Greece so this was a whole new adventure for me- especially just getting there!
My trip to the South of France was simply about swimming, food and reading- what a holiday should be about! Towards the end of my family’s holiday, my best friend flew over for a couple days to enjoy the French weather. We definitely didn’t have enough time in France, however, we made sure to make the most of it. Two days later we were off again.
On Friday at 6am we flew from Nice to London. When we arrived in London at around midday, however the clock was ticking for our next flight, so we packed a new suitcase, and prepared for our next adventure. We had an early night and woke up at 3am for another early flight from London to Mykonos. Two consecutive flights were not easy but this was only the beginning...
All was easy enough; we meet with the other families that we joining us for the holiday and all got ourselves a large ice coffee and some Pret breakfast while we waited for our gate to open. However nothing is ever that smooth. When we got to Mykonos we got a taxi down to the port to wait for out ferry when we discovered that not only was our ferry not for another 3 hours but the ferry that was supposed to take us straight there was cancelled and we would have to wait and change ferries at Satorini before getting to our island.
The First ferry was fairly long to we got out the iPad and watched a movie while we watched the boat rush past in the water. By the end of the movie we made it to our second stop. We were gonna be there for a while so we made sure to change into our swimsuits and sat by the beach while enjoying our first Greek salad of the trip. When the Second ferry arrived, there were a few delays but our whole group sat on the top deck of the boat to enjoy the view while approaching the island of IOS.
Once we had collected our items and got our cars ready we were headed for a bumpy ride ahead as we drove to our villa which was on the other side of the island. However, this was planned perfectly as we were able to watch the sunset from our ‘jimmy’ cars as we drove, listening to our music playing on the speaker.
That night once we unpacked and settled into the villa, everyone popped on their swimsuits again for a final swim of the day. After we cleaned up and got ready for the evening we enjoyed lovely traditional food prepared by the housekeeper of the villa before an early night sleep to be ready for the week ahead...
(Next post is about my week in IOS- so subscribe to stay tuned)
Love,
Aria XO
