Hand Luggage Essentials
The beginning of the Easter holidays have begun, and to start the holiday off right I will be going to Turkey for the weekend with some family friends. Since everyone is beginning to book holiday trips away again, after such a long time of COVID, I thought it would only be fitting to focus this week's post on packing for holidays. Personally, I always struggle to pack for holidays, especially my hand luggage. I'm always overpacking and forgetting things that I actually need, however, creating a checklist is the best way to make sure that you have everything needed to make your travels as easy as possible.
Hand Luggage Checklist:
1. Phone, laptop and Ipad
You must check that you have packed all your devices for your flight before leaving. It's essential to make sure to download any tv show episodes, movies, audiobooks and music you want to watch/ listen to on the trip.
2. Chargers
As well as checking all your electronics are securely in your bag it's important to make sure that all the equipment required are in your bag too- don't need anything devices dying halfway through the flight!
3. Book
A book is another important entertainment activity for a long flight or during the holiday, relaxing next to a pool. There are so many books to choose from in duty-free before boarding, however, always be prepared to bring another just in case.
4. Snacks
Snacks are a key part of the travelling experience- I love packing my bags with food and drinks before my flight, especially at the duty-free. You can never have enough and you never know when you might need that chocolate bar you were eyeing at the counter!
5. Mask and hand sanitiser
Just to stay safe, remember to always pack a spare mask and some hand sanitiser to remain healthy during the holiday as COVID, unfortunately, is still out there.
6. Headphone
Another tangled up wire that always gets forgotten- headphones! Sometimes they give you a pair on the plane but you can never be sure so I always have a pair attached to my phone or Ipad to help me remember.
7. Work
If it's a long flight I always bring a bit of work to knock out, either it's just some reading to get done or some blog-related work. It makes the flight feel as if you have achieved something and it means you don't have to waste the rest of the holiday trying to get some work done.
8. Wallet/ handbag
If you are someone whose life lives in a handbag I would recommend packing your bag within your hand luggage. My handbag has all of my essential items, such as my keys, wallet, money and sunglasses, with a handbag all of my items are in one space without being lost or forgotten.
9. Essential products
The aeroplane can be drying for my skin so I always bring a small lip balm and some hand cream with me! If you are on a really long flight maybe bring some of your skincare products to keep your face fresh throughout the trip.
10. Passport
Most importantly though, remember to pack your passport!
