Get Ready for School!
Since everyone in the UK is going back to school next week I thought I would share some of my tips to prepare for school- I will specifically be talking about boarding school (as that's where I go to school), however, it still applies to day schools as well!
1. Buy essentials
Stocking up on essentials is vital for boarding school, specifically food! It can be hard if you haven't been at boarding school long but over time you learn what you NEED to bring, for me, it's chocolate! Usually make a list of things that I want for school and do a massive shop so I don't need to keep going back. A food haul post will be coming up soon!
This doesn't just have to be for boarding school, it can also apply if you have pack lunches or need to bring snacks, be prepared and find some recipes that you want to make throughout the week so you don't have to wait until the last minute. It's also important to make sure that you have enough of your skincare products and enough essentials for school, like; pens and notebooks.
2. Pack!
Be prepared, don't leave your packing to the last moment - you will either pack too much or forget important things! Plan out everything on the floor, don't just put it in the suitcase! Make one pile for clothes, books, skincare, and food. This makes packing so much easier as you know what's going in and you can think through what's needed!
3. Get organised!
You don't want to leave any books at school, so it's important to go through your files and make sure all your work is organised and together. Email any teachers any questions that you haven't asked yet and make a note of anything you have forgotten to do. Online lessons have made it much easier to just chuck my work in a pile for later, however, it will be a lot harder to do that when your at school, make it easier for yourself and organise!
4. Finish any unfinished work
You have time, so take advantage! School can be so stressful so finishing that piece of homework will probably really help you in the future, especially now you're going back to school and probably have more on. It will make you feel like you have achieved somethings this week and it will relieve some tension you might be feeling about going back!
5. Enjoy the weekend!
Lastly, enjoy the weekend, take some time for yourself! It can be stressful going back to school, don't be so hard on yourself! If you follow my tips by the weekend you will have very little to do and can enjoy the last weekend before you go back! There are lots of things to do even in our homes; baking, having a bath or watching a film. Even going food shopping for your favourite foods can be fun, put in your headphone and listen to your favourite podcast/playlist!
Love,
Aria
