Food for School!

It's important to bring the right food when going back to school, often the food is either not great or you don't like the meal so you have to be prepared! In this post, like promised, I will be sharing my favourite food to bring to school and what I often try and avoid! I hope this helps any newbie to the boarding life or anyone who's going off to university!

1. Rice

In a lot of schools a microwave is always available so I love to bring some microwavable rice with me incase I missed a meal or extra hungry. I usually get Uncle Bens or supermarket.

2. Lentils

Packeted lentils/ curry are also another super easy meal to pop in the microwave, there are so many flavours and different types that you can try out. I usually buy bulk on amazon to have a throughout the term!

3. Pasta and Sauce

Pasta and pesto is super easy and filling! Not every school has a kitchen, however, if you do it's a perfect thing to bring with you! There are so many different sauces to choose from, not just pesto!

4.Baked Beans

If you like Baked Beans I would really recommend bringing a tin to school, it's perfect! Its super filling and full of protein to keep you full throughout the day!

5. Flax seeds and Nutritional yeast

This isn't a must need, however, I love to bring some seeds and toppings for the extra benefit! Flax seeds and Nutritional yeast are high in fibre and protein, which I don't get much with school food!

6. Popcorn

If you are staying in at the weekends, popcorn is an ideal thing to bring! Its so nice to have in the evenings when watching a movie with friends and perfect if you are craving something salty!

7. Chocolate

However, if you are a sweet tooth, I would highly recommend bringing enough chocolate! I love chocolate and usually have some at night. I like to keep a collection including; dark, milk and some chocolate covered raisins (for every occasion)!

8. Porridge and Granola

I love breakfast so I always bring porridge and granola incase I don't like the breakfast or I want to have a lie in, instead of going to early breakfast! I often bring Deliciously Ellas porridge and her granola which is super easy and quick!

9. Coffee

Coffee isn't for everyone, but if you are I would really bring your own coffee, often school coffee isn't very good and doesn't contain the caffeine! It's also perfect when you didn't get a good night sleep!

10. Chips and Crackers

I always bring plenty of snacks, which includes a lot of crisps, rice crackers and salted cracker! This is perfect when you peckish or your craving something salty, just like the popcorn!

Love,

Aria xo
